Meet Dr. Rigney
Dr. Jay Rigney In addition to being the founder of Dr. Rigney Eye Care & Eyewear in Owasso, OK, Dr. J Jay Rigney is also a member of the American Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians. Dr. Rigney is board certified in anterior segment laser procedures, PRK laser vision correction, and Yag laser capsulotomies. In addition, Dr. Rigney is also board certified to treat infections of the eye and eyelids, with the ability to perform minor surgical lid and corneal procedures, as well as has board certification to treat glaucoma. He has over 33 years in eye care experience that he offers to his central Oklahoma community, and Dr. Rigney takes the time to thoroughly explain every patient's diagnosis, ensuring everyone understands their specific condition and treatment.
Education and Training
Dr. Rigney graduated from Northeastern State University College of Optometry and has continued to hone his craft for over 33 years since opening his private practice in Owasso in 1984. Today, Dr. Rigney is board certified in anterior laser procedures, PRK laser vision correction, Yag laser capsulotomies, as well as being highly-skilled to treat infections of the eye and eyelid, trained to perform minor surgical lid and corneal procedures.

As a board-certified Optometrist, Dr. Rigney offers a wide variety of services from his private practice to ensure the highest quality eye care for his patients. Dr. Rigney is board certified to treat eye conditions, such as glaucoma, infections, disorders, and allergies, while also administering routine check-ups and eye exams. Dr. Rigney can also provide LASIK laser vision corrections and revision laser treatments, as well as BOTOX injections for ocular aging changes around the eyelids. Dr. Rigney's in-house optical lab allows patients to restore their vision by having custom-made frames and contact lenses created for their unique prescription.
Achievements and Affiliations
Dr. J Jay Rigney is proud to serve the Owasso, OK community for over 30 years. During his extensive career, he has had the privilege of being a member of the American Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians. Dr. Rigney is also passionate about educating the public on his field, writing and publishing two books on the creation and importance of the eye.
Beyond His Practice
As well as having a successful private practice, Dr. Rigney has also served as a former president of the Owasso Rotary Club and currently is on the deacon board of Christ’s Church of Owasso. When he is not authoring books related to his field or practicing medicine, Dr. Rigney enjoys spending his downtime with his wife and 6 children.
